This page is a tribute to all the young girls aspiring to participate in sports, and to the adults who play a crucial role in nurturing their athletic ambitions. As someone who has embraced sports throughout my life, I owe a debt of gratitude to my parents for their unwavering support in my journey through soccer, basketball, indoor track, and most importantly, lacrosse. They not only encouraged me to try my best but also shaped my character. While I also invested time in becoming an elementary school teacher and excelling in my studies, it was sports that ignited my passion and played a pivotal role in shaping the person I am today.  A BIG thank you to my husband, Tim, who has supported me as I started this journey as a children’s book author. 

Now, as a primary school teacher, lacrosse coach, author, and girl mom, I firmly believe that empowering our youth is the cornerstone of building a brighter future, especially young girls in sports.  Learning about sports through literature with lessons about hard work, perseverance, and a positive mindset is impactful for young learners.  

I’m so proud to present my first children’s book in a series about girls sports, written about something that I am the most passionate about: lacrosse and girls in sports! 🥍💪🏼💗✨ A New Sport: Rosie’s Lacrosse Story, is available now, April 2, 2024!

One of my dreams since starting my teaching career almost 10 years ago, was to become a children’s book author.  After reading countless picture books to my students and always sharing about my love for lacrosse, I realized that we are missing something: a children’s book about lacrosse! And even more importantly, girls in sports! 

After doing some research I realized how few books there were about a sport that I love so dearly, and wanted to make it my mission to write and create a book that young girls will love to grow the game and hopefully motivate girls to try lacrosse or at least want to learn about it. 

Whether it’s lacrosse, field hockey, golf, or more- if kids have never heard of it they won’t know they can play it! I hope to share the game of lacrosse with the next generation and inspire young girls to try something new 🥰 The ‘A New Sport’ series will be coming soon… with a new one in the making!
